“ The member states shall ensure that after 01.July 2006, newly marketed items of electrical and electronic equipment shall not contain any lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybromide biphenyl (PBB) or polybromide diphenyl ether (PBDE).” Statement:

SCM Microsystems is fully committed to supporting both the EC2002/95/EC Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) and EC2002/96/EC Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directives. All of SCM products are compliant to the European Directive EU2002/95/EC (RoHS) inclusive of the latest amendments till May 2009 and bear the RoHS marking. When SCM Microsystems declares any product as RoHS compliant, it would apply to the following substances as listed in the EU directive 2002/95/EC inclusive of the latest amendments till May 2009:

The situation today is that the electronics industry is providing information on the listed substances only. SCM Microsystems is not currently able to meet any additional requirements regarding substances which are not part of the EU directive 2002/95/EC.
RoHS Compliant Material Identification: to allow easy identification of RoHS compliant material and products, where the products size allows it RoHS label similar to example below or simply “RoHS” shall be displayed in the product, manual or packaging:
RoHS Compliant Material Identification on documents: to allow easy identification of RoHS compliant material, the suffix « LF » will be added to the SAP number or part number description.
