SCM Microsystems is manufacturer of electronic products, thus, in the sense of REACH, we are so called “downstream users”. The products we supply to you are solely non-chemical products (goods). Moreover and under normal and reasonably foreseeable circumstances of application, the goods supplied to you shall not release any substance. For that, SCM Microsystems is neither obligatory for registration nor for the creation of material safety data sheet (MSDS).

Furthermore, we will immediately inform you in correspondence to REACH – Article 33 if any substance of content (as from a content of >0.1%) in our goods will be classified alarming by the European Agency for Chemicals ECHA. Based on the current status, however, we do not expect such an incidence.

Independent of that fact, we are intensively pursuing the realisation of REACH on the part of our suppliers; we do that in our own interest and in order to guarantee a high level of product safety for our customers. We are in close contact with our suppliers of chemistry and prepared material (e.g. manufacturing supplies for manufacturing, processing and workmanship of our products or for the utilisation within other operative processes) and will implement the pre-registration and/or later registration of the relevant materials in REACH respectively in our process of supplier qualification.
